Management Team

Barry Symons - CEO
Barry Symons joined Constellation Software (Jonas's Parent Company) in 1997 to manage the financial affairs of the business, assist in the evaluation of acquisition prospects, structure and negotiate deals and direct the acquisition integration process. Barry was named CEO of Jonas Software in September 2007 where he now oversees business strategy for Jonas's Construction and Hospitality related businesses. Before joining Constellation, Barry was with a big four Accounting firm in varying roles of increasing responsibility. Barry holds a Chartered Accountancy designation and an Honours Business degree both of which were received with distinction.

Jeffrey McKee - CFO
As Chief Financial Officer, Jeffrey works directly with the entire senior team to drive company performance. Jeffrey is responsible for all financial, treasury, human resources, corporate compliance and administration functions. He also plays a key role in all of the company’s acquisition activity from deal sourcing and negotiation through to integration.
Prior to joining Jonas in 2004, Jeffrey worked eight years with KPMG in their Information, Communications and Entertainment practice working primarily with technology and gaming companies in both Canada and the United States. Jeffrey is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Business Administration from York University.

Patrick Arkeveld - General Manager

Patrick joined Jonas in 2003 and subsequently occupied various roles within both the Club and Construction Sales Groups.  After a few years in sales Patrick was promoted to further grow our International business as Director of UK Operations.  While in the UK Patrick helped expand the Jonas footprint and played a key role in opening up opportunities in the Middle East and Africa.  In 2008 Patrick returned to our head office as the Director of Club Operations where he was responsible for both the Support and Professional Services groups. Finally, in 2010, Patrick was appointed President of the Construction division. Patrick holds an MBA from Queens University. 

George Arkeveld - Vice President Sales
George Arkeveld joined Jonas as the VP Sales for the Construction Division of Jonas Software in 2004 bringing with him more than 30 years of executive sales management experience and a successful track record of building strong and dynamic sales teams. Prior to Jonas George was the VP Sales for Lucent Technologies Canada and his past positions include President of Timeplex Canada and VP Sales for Gandalf Technologies.

Steve Ecclestone - Vice President Product
Since joining Jonas in 1995 Steve has held a number of positions across the support, installation and development departments and currently oversees development and product direction as the Vice President of Product. Prior to 1995 Steve worked for 16 years in heavy construction in positions ranging from field office manager to estimator to controller. Steve holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business.

Bernie Powers – Vice President Professional Services
Since joining the team as a Support Analyst in 1998, Bernie moved into various roles with Jonas including the Training and Quality Assurance departments. In 2003, Bernie founded Jonas UK and returned to Canada late in 2005 to re-join the Construction team at Head Office in her current position as the Vice President of Professional Services. Prior to joining Jonas, Bernie worked in the Construction Industry as a Financial Controller in the UK and then joined Multisoft Financial Systems as Head of Training.
