Jonas Introduces its New Document Management Solution
Toronto – April 22, 2008: Jonas Software is pleased to announce the launch of a new integrated Document Management solution for users of the Jonas platform. Based on .Net and SQL technology the Jonas Document Management System (DMS) provides Jonas users with an easy to use repository for documents generated within the Jonas Construction Management solution, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office and a number of other applications.
Before embarking on the development of DMS Jonas reviewed a vast cross section of document management products and considered a number of partnership opportunities but in the end decided that developing a new product from the ground up would be the best option.
“We believe that to be effectively deployed a Document Management Solution needs to be as tightly linked to the corporate ERP solution as possible” says Steve Ecclestone, VP of product development at Jonas. “While considering third party solutions we saw that we were never going to get the level of integration that we were hoping for and were concerned about relying on another company to maintain all the connections between the products. In the end it just made more sense to build our own.”
In addition to providing a simple way to classify and store any document, Jonas DMS also comes complete with approval workflow process functionality, new reporting features, advanced user security / access control, full-text search and retrieval, document capture and checks in/ check out features for sharing of documents. With the development of the web-enabled package, clients who adopt DMS will benefit from a new ability to effectively share documents between headquarters, remote offices and the field.
